Premier continues visit to Beaumont-Hamel

The premier is continuing her memorial duties in France Saturday as that country marks the Battle of the Somme and the tragic events of Beaumont-Hamel. She says Friday’s events in Beaumont-Hamel were emotional for all who participated, with 50 wreaths being laid, including one by Senator Fabian Manning. Dunderdale says she was impressed by the number of young people taking part in memorial activities related to world conflict.

On Friday, Dunderdale took part in remembrance ceremonies in Beaumont-Hamel, where the Battle of the Somme began in 1916.
